Import Data

  • Import data from a delimited ASCII file into the database.
  • Filename is the pathname of the file to import, relative to the location of VirtualCatalog on the web server.
  • Check each field that exists in the import file.
  • For each checked field, indicate which column in the import file corresponds to the field. The first column in the import file will be column number 1.
  • If NO column numbers are given, fields will be assumed to be in the order shown below. Data cannot be imported if some checked fields have numbers while some do not.
  • Specify the character used to delimit the import file.
  • Select Update current records to add to or modify current records in the database.   Select Delete current records then add if you want to replace all records in the database with the records in the import file.
